Frequently Asked Questions / Shkolarus Russian School in Calgary

Please feel free to contact us if you cannot find the information you were looking for.

  • Do you teach from the same syllabus and textbooks as the ones prescribed in Russia?

We strongly believe that the standard approach from the Russian education system cannot be successfully transfered to and replicated in Canada. The Russian language studies in the native-language environment are aimed at developing the conventional orthography and syntax skills in native speakers of Russian, while the learning objective in the English-speaking environment is to grasp the Russian language in a more accessible way with the particular emphasis on spoken language.

The learning methods and proprietory instructional materials implemented in our Russian school allow for a more organic conception of new grammatical structures and lexical foundations by children as a result of active and meaningful repetition in our interactive, educational, yet very entertaining setting.

  • Does your school receive foreign funding or material support from foreign entities?

Shkolarus Russian School is a fully independent and 100% self-supporting Canadian professional practice. We are neither funded by foreign governments nor we are receiving any material support (assistance, grants, etc.) from any third parties whatsoever, and we are very transparent about it. Our proprietory academic program and lesson content are free of ideological, political or religious components, which has always been the core principle of our operations.
